When popular basketball captain Troy and shy, academically gifted newcomer Gabriella discover they share a passion for singing, they decide to audition for the lead roles in the school musical. But following their dreams threatens East High’s rigid social order and sends their friends into uproar. Follow the tricky twists and turns as the teens deal with peer pressure and canteen cliques.
